A União Africana adoptou uma Posição Comum Africana sobre a Eficácia da Ajuda Humanitária, durante as Sessões Ordinárias do Conselho Executivo e da Conferência cimeira de 2016, realizadas em Janeiro de 2016, em Adis Abeba, Etiópia. A PCA coloca a tónica na eficácia Humanitária em África, e afigura-se como uma consolidação das aspirações dos Estados Membros Africanos e seus povos, relativamente às reformas que desejam ver na arquitectura humanitária, por forma a torná-las mais eficazes e relevantes para o futuro.

La Position africaine commune sur l’efficacité humanitaire a été adoptée au cours de la session ordinaire du Conseil exécutif et de l’Assemblée générale de 2016, tenues en janvier 2016 à Addis-Abéba, en Éthiopie.  La PAC, qui met l’accent sur l’efficacité de l’action humanitaire en Afrique, est la consolidation des aspirations des États membres de l’Union africaine et de leurs peuples qui veulent une réforme de l’architecture humanitaire mondiale afin qu’elle soit plus efficace et plus adaptée pour l’avenir.

African Governance Architecture Framework

 The African Governance Architecture (AGA) is inspired by the Constitutive Act of  the African Union (AU) that expresses the AU’s determination to ‘promote and protect human and people’s rights, consolidate democratic institutions and culture and ensure good governance and the rule of law’. This determination is buttressed by related objectives and principles contained in Article 3(g and h) and Article 4(m) of the Act on the promotion, protection and respect for human rights, democratic principles and institutions, and good governance.

Outcome Statement on Youth Participation and Leadership in Political parties: Special Focus on Young Women

The Youth pre-forum of December 2015,provided an opportunity for the participants to review the existing space for youth participation, highlighting the opportunities and challenges faced by young people in political parties in Africa. Furthermore, participants debated the quality of participation vis a vis the capacity of youth wings/ leagues to influence policy directions of their respective parties as well as the value addition that youth participation brings to improved democratic governance on the continent.

Outcome Statement on Women's Equal Participatipon and Leadership in Political Parties

The Fourth Annual High Level Dialogue on Democracy, Human Rights and Governance in Africa was held in Kigali, Rwanda from 7-8 December 2015 under the theme; Women’s Equal Participation and Leadership in Political Parties in Africa. The theme was informed by the decision of the 23rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU that was held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, in June 2014, which declared 2015 as the Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063.

Silencing the Guns Gender pre forum outcomes/recomendations

From 6 - 7 October 2014, two hundred men and women, drawn from Gender Experts from African Union (AU) Member States, AU Organs, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Development Partners, Civil society Organizations, academia, media, private sector and think tanks across Africa met in Kigali, Rwanda to foster a deeper understanding of the trends, challenges and opportunities for women in strengthening democratic governance towards silencing guns in Africa by 2020.

Compilation of Outcome Statements from the 2014 High Level Dialogue on Democracy, Human Rights and Governance and its Pre-Fora

In response to critical challenges Africa faces, the 21st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government adopted the 50th Anniversary Solemn Declaration on May 26, 2013, in which African leaders committed to ending all wars in Africa by 2020.
